Friday September 18, 2026 at o'clock 20:45 the Loggio Schools, in Valsolda, host an evening dedicated to Andrea Bonvicini, an author from Valsoldo who presents two books: The Great Beginning of History, drama in five parts, and The clouds go, a collection of published and unpublished stories, anecdotes, and poems.
The reading will be accompanied by musical interventions by Ivan Porta on the accordion, a teacher from the Civic Music Institute of Dongo, Menaggio, and Porlezza. Refreshments will follow. The event is organized by the Antonio Fogazzaro Municipal Library of Valsolda and continues the series of literary evenings that in recent months has brought authors from the Larian and Cerese areas to Loggio.
The author
Andrea Bonvicini was born in Oria Valsolda in 1942. After his technical studies in Lugano and Milan he worked in Canton Ticino as a designer and technical consultant: a border biography, between the Lake Ceresio and Switzerland, which belongs to many families in Valsolda. Writing came later, driven by what he himself describes as an internal impulse: to put a lifetime's worth of emotions into verse and stories, hoping to be perceived by the reader's intimate sense.
The two books
The Great Beginning of History It is a drama in five parts, a free interpretation by the author on the theme of origins. The clouds go Instead, it collects short stories and poems, some previously published and some previously unpublished, with a view of the Valsoldese shore of Lake Ceresio on the cover. During the evening, the author will read excerpts from both works.


Ivan Porta

Born in Como, Ivan Porta studied accordion with Maestro Mimmo Orlando, combining dance music and classical repertoire, and graduated in piano at the Conservatory of Mantua in 1985. He taught music education in middle schools in numerous municipalities between Lario and Ceresio, including Menaggio, Porlezza and San Bartolomeo. Cavargna Valley, and collaborates with dance orchestras as an arranger and soloist. He currently teaches accordion at the Civic Music Institute of Dongo, Menaggio, and Porlezza.
