Sunday June 7, 2026 the Pro Loco Valsolda invites residents and visitors to Fish Festival, the gastronomic event that celebrates lake fish at Bazzoli Park of San Mamete, on the banks of Lake Ceresio. It starts at 12 o'clock, in a green area just a few steps from the lakefront, also perfect for families with children.
It is one of the most heartfelt celebrations in the Valsolda calendar: an opportunity to meet outdoors, at the beginning of summer, around dishes that tell the story of the lake cuisine of this corner of the Lake Lugano.
The menu: the tradition of lake fish
The absolute protagonist is fish, prepared according to the recipes that have accompanied the tables of Ceresio for generations:
- Fried little fish – small, crispy, fried lake fish to be enjoyed as soon as they're ready.
- Soused fish – fried fish then marinated in vinegar, onion, and aromatic herbs, according to the ancient Larian preservation technique.
- Grilled Missoltini with onions – dried and pressed shad, a symbol of the lake's tradition, grilled and served with onions.
All fish dishes are accompanied by polenta or bread. For those looking for alternatives: fritto misto, chips, cheese with polenta, and a sandwich with cheese or salami. Desserts are also available, including a Pro Loco cake and a selection of drinks.

A day between lake and tradition
