Route description:
The adventure along the cycle/pedestrian path from Porlezza to Menaggio is a journey full of fascinating stops, each with its own unique charm. Starting from Porlezza, on the eastern shore of the Lake Ceresio, participants are immediately immersed in the serene beauty of the lake landscape.
The route winds through the Porto Letizia Park and Lido, offering a relaxing and panoramic break. The climb along the embankment of the Cuccio River up to the hamlet Saint Peter Sovera of the municipality of Carlazzo introduces an element of river nature, with the freshness and vitality that only a watercourse can offer.
After crossing the bridge over the river, you enter the green pastures that surround the ancient village of Castle of San Pietro, creating a suggestive transition. The direction towards the entrance of the Piano Lake Reserve adds a naturalistic note to the experience, with the flora and fauna that populate this corner of paradise.
Continuing on the northern shore of the lake, you go up the Menaggio Valley, approaching the characteristic village of Good Lario. The route then enters the municipality of Grandola and United, where is the Ethnographic and Naturalistic Museum of Val Sanagra and the Galli Furnace, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the local culture and history of the valley.
