The Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Caravina<\/a>, in Valsolda, hosts a concert of extraordinary quality on Sunday 26 April 2026 at 4.30 pm: the protagonist is the Magnificat in D major BWV 243<\/em> by Johann Sebastian Bach, preceded by the Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068<\/em>, absolute masterpieces of the Baroque repertoire.<\/p>\n

On stage 74 interpreters<\/strong>: 45 choristers, 5 vocal soloists and 24 orchestral musicians \u2014 one of the most impressive musical productions ever hosted in the territory of the Lake Ceresio and the Valleys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068<\/h3>\n

Among the most luminous of Bach's four great orchestral Overture-Suites, composed in Leipzig around 1730. It combines French-style dances and a thoroughly German solemnity. The famous Air<\/em> It is one of the highest moments in orchestral literature of all time: a continuous and transparent flow that seems to suspend time.<\/p>\n

Magnificat in D major, BWV 243<\/h3>\n

One of Bach's most joyful and modern sacred works. Originally composed in E-flat major and later reworked in its final version in D major, it stands out for its colorful variety, harmonic richness, and the energy of the choir and soloists. Twelve movements, each a self-contained expressive canvas: exultation, amazement, intimacy, wonder.<\/p>\n
