An evening of noir, justice, and music in Loggio

La Valsolda Municipal Library offers a cultural event of great interest for lovers of noir novels and civil fiction.

Friday, February 13, 2026, at 8:45 PM, at the Lodge Schools, the presentation of the novel will take place The victim can kill Of Vittorio Nessi, one of the most authoritative magistrate and authors on the contemporary Italian scene.

A noir that questions the conscience

The victim can kill It's not just a detective novel.

It is a story that delves into the ambiguities of justice, the uncertain boundaries between good and evil, individual responsibility and institutional abandonment.

The protagonist, the public prosecutor Bruno Ferretti, disillusioned by the events of Tangentopoli, asks to be transferred to a remote Sicilian town overlooking the African sea. Here he finds himself immersed in a complex reality, described as “smart, violent, lazy and generous”, where every certainty wavers and the law seems to lose its abstract face to confront real life.

At the heart of the novel emerges an uncomfortable and very current question:

What happens when the state abandons its victims and they decide to take justice into their own hands?
