Chef Challenge: Second Edition of an Event
between taste and solidarity
The February 26, 2020025, the square of Saint Mamete will host the second edition of the Chef Challenge, an event that combines food, entertainment, and charity. To tell us about the meaning and innovations of this initiative is Pamela Paredi, chef and owner of theβLa Lanterna Inn of Cressogno, promoter and beating heart of this event.
A special tribute to Fabrizio
The event was born with a profound and emotional purpose: "The goal of the Chef Challenge is to pay homage to a special person. On the occasion of a significant anniversary, we decided to celebrate his memory through fun, charity, and good food," explains Pamela.
In addition to the commemorative aspect, the competition represents an opportunity to bring an out-of-season event in the country and involve the community in a moment of aggregation and conviviality.
An open and inclusive challenge
Compared to the first edition, a greater participation and a more detailed organization. Registration was open to all chefs via personal invitations and word of mouth, without any selection criteria: βAny chef who wishes to contribute is welcome.β specifies the chef.
The competition is based on a simple but captivating formula:
- Each chef will prepare an original finger food, accompanied by a selected drink.
- The public will act as the jury and will decide the winner with the most votes.
- There are no thematic limits, only creativity and passion for cooking.
Furthermore, participants who manage to correctly match all dishes with their respective drinks will receive a special prize.
Collaboration and community spirit
The event is made possible thanks to the collaboration between theβLa Lanterna Inn, the Pro Loco of Valsolda and the King Pub. βWe believe that in a small country like ours, uniting and collaborating is essential to achieve great results.β Pamela emphasizes.
There are no external sponsors: theβOsteria La Lanterna finances itself the initiative, demonstrating a strong commitment to the community and the success of the event.
Dishes, entertainment and solidarity
La Chef Challenge It won't be just a cooking competition. The public will be able to buy the dishes, taste different specialties and participate in a unique gastronomic experience. βThere will be more than just competition and food, it will also be an opportunity to party and have fun.β adds the chef.
Each dish will have a symbolic cost of 5 euros, and part of the proceeds β net of out-of-pocket costs β will be donated to charity. It will also be possible to purchase tasting packages at a discounted price.
An event destined to grow
After the success of the first edition, expectations are high: βWe expect a larger turnout, more lightheartedness, and lots of fun. We hope this will be only the second of many future editions.β says Pamela.
The goal is to make the Chefs' Challenge: A Regular Event in Valsolda's Culinary Calendar, improving and expanding it year after year.
