Saturday June 28, 2025, at hours 17:30, The Pagani House Museum Of Valsolda Castle opens its doors to a special afternoon, dedicated to official presentation of the donated and deposited paintings from private citizens to the museum's permanent collection. A generous gesture that enriches the area's cultural heritage.
Among the works donated or granted on loan:
-“Madonna of the Roses”, made by Julian Togni and donated by Omar Tigrini;
-“The Knight in the Castle”, precious ink drawing with a view of the Valsoldese village;
-THE portraits of three famous architects of the Merlini family of Castello:
Domenico Merlini (Warsaw, 1730–1797), royal architect in Poland and Lithuania;
Carlo Rocco Merlini (Rovato, 1728–Brescia, 1793), collaborator of the architect Corbellini;
Domenico Merlini from Pellio, drawing owned by Mrs. Laura Pavese.
The works testify to the value of local memory and the importance of connection between past and present.
Three significant figures from the area will speak at the event: Roger Pianezzi, president of the Friends of the Casa Pagani Museum Association; Giorgio Mollisi, director of the Museum; and Massimo Pollice, councilor of the Municipality of Valsolda.
The afternoon will be made even more special by a live musical interlude, performed by the flutist Gloria Togni, and will end with a refreshments offered to participants. A convivial opportunity to meet, converse, and share a love of art and local history.
