Two books and an evening of music at the Valsolda Library
Saturday, March 14, 2026, 8:45 PM – Loggio Schools, Antonio Fogazzaro Municipal Library of Valsolda
The Valsolda Municipal Library presents an evening that intertwines art, science, and music, with two exceptional performers and two must-see titles.
“"We are not heroes, we are professionals" and "Faith in art in the lower Valtellina"”
Two books, two apparently distant worlds - the hospital corridor and the churches of an Alpine territory - yet united by the same gaze: that of Sonia Barini, head cardiology nurse at Gravedona Hospital, artist and photography enthusiast.
With “We are not heroes, we are professionals” has collected the voices of those who experienced the pandemic on the front lines, restoring to the public the human dimension of an often misunderstood profession. With “Faith in Art in Lower Valtellina” Instead, it takes a journey through the religious artistic heritage of the area, guiding the reader to discover the sacred works of art in the churches of Andalo, Delebio, Piantedo, and Rogolo, through a detailed account accompanied by high-quality photographic images.
“Faith in Art in Lower Valtellina” It is available for €35, with proceeds going to charity for the restoration of the Valpozzo Sanctuary.
Gavino Fiori: poet and singer-songwriter with hits on Rete 55
Enriching the evening with his music will be Gavino Fiori, former mayor of Cavargna, a poet and singer-songwriter with a long musical career. Author of over 25 lyrics, he made his public debut during the pandemic with the song “It never ends” —with lyrics, music, and vocals entirely her own—has become an emotional touchstone for the region. A familiar face to viewers of Lombardy's Rete 55 television network, she brings to the stage the same sensitivity with which Sonia Barini experienced and recounted those difficult years.
